Shanghai Hu for short, is a renowned international metropolis drawing more and more attention from all over the world. Situated on the estuary of Yangtze River, Shanghai serves as the most influential economic, financial, international trade, cultural, science and technology center in East China. Also it is a popular tourist destination, visitors can sense the pulsating development of modern China.
Transportation
Shanghai serves as an important air, railway, highway and water transportation hub in eastern China. The frequent international and domestic flights, trains and buses make tourists' travel to Shanghai a breeze. The urban transportation of Shanghai is also quite satisfactory. And despite the traffic jam that do happen occasionally, the convenient taxis, city buses, subway trains etc. can take you to any corner of the city.
Dining
Shanghai's restaurants are among the finest in China, offering quality food and superior service. A wide variety of foods can be found in the city and today Shanghai offers a plethora of culinary delights focusing on the traditions of Beijing, Sichuan, Hunan, Guangzhou and of course the local Benbang dishes. If visitors are homesick for Western food, this is also available in the downtown area.

Known as the 'Oriental Paris', Shanghai is a shopper's paradise. There are various bustling commercial streets and shopping centers waiting for the shopaholic. One of the musts for tourists is the Nanjing Road. Huaihai Road intrigues those with modern and fashionable tastes, while North Sichuan Road meets the demands of ordinary folk. In addition, Xujiahui Shopping Center, Yuyuan Shopping City, and Jiali Sleepless City are thriving and popular destinations for those who are seeking to buy something special as a memento of their visit.
Nightlife
Shanghai is a fascinating city for night owls. The Bund is an absolute must for visitors. The rippling Huangpu River, characteristic buildings on the west bank, and extraordinarily futuristic skyscrapers on the east bank all become more enchanting adorned in sparkling colored lights at night. A night cruise on the Huangpu River is highly recommended. For art lovers, Shanghai Grand Theater, Oriental Art Center and many other performance venues will delight a visitor's taste for nightlife. For those seeking relaxation, the ideal choice should be Hengshan Road and Xin Tian Di which are thronged with a variety of nightclubs, discos, bars, coffee houses and teashops.
